Privacy
Policy
In
accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's "Fair
Information Practice Principles," NMUA observes the five
core principles of privacy protection, as follows:
- Notice
/ Awareness - NMUA is an independent, privately owned and
operated company. Its principal business is to provide information
management consulting services and web-based intellectual content
to its clients, solely on their behalf and for their benefit.
Start-up capital and operating expenses have been funded entirely
by the owner and founder of the company. All other revenue is
compensation for direct client services; as such, NMUA has no
explicit conflicts of interests or other undue third party influences.
NMUA does not (and has no plans to) use "cookies" or
any other form of tracking software or service which uniquely
identifies specific visitors to this site.
All data submitted to NMUA which can be explicitly associated
with a specific client and which is not already in the public
domain shall remain confidential and secure, unless NMUA has obtained
prior written permission for public expression of this information.
"Public expression" for these purposes shall be understood
to include publication of client-specific data on the Internet;
reference to the client in any other media forum or format; or
the use of the client as a reference resource.
From time to time, NMUA may use non-specific data from client
sources and activities to prepare reports, presentations, and
performance profiles. Any references to specific persons or clients
would be eliminated. (Examples include the total number of clients
served, the total number of active sites and site pages, the total
number page access, etc.)
- Choice
/ Consent - NMUA will not divulge client-specific information
to any third party without the client's prior written consent.
Furthermore, NMUA will not electively provide client lists to
any third party without permission. However, unless clients or
prospective clients request not to be included on internal mailing
lists, NMUA may send clients informational updates from time to
time regarding services and products offered by NMUA.
- Access
/ Participation - NMUA makes every reasonable effort to ensure
that the data used to develop this site and to provide client
services is accurate and timely. Our clients may request documentation,
to be provided on a timely basis, that identifies the sources
and uses of any data relevant to that client. NMUA will update
client information promptly, on this site and on other sites within
its control, in accordance with applicable Terms and Conditions
of any Business Service Agreements which may apply.
- Integrity
/ Security - NMUA shall take reasonable steps, in accordance
with prevailing industry standards, to ensure that the data on
this site (and on client sites we support) is accurate and secure.
This shall include compliance with the governmental regulation
(e.g. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act {HIPAA},
and others) and other oversight agencies and accrediting bodies.
- Enforcement
/ Redress - Any person or client who believes that a breach
in the NMUA Privacy Policy may have occurred is asked to communicate
this to NMUA immediately, preferably in writing. NMUA agrees to
investigate and, when appropriate and possible, remedy any breach
which occurs. Unless otherwise resolved, the financial liability
incurred by NMUA for a breach on this site or a client site shall
be no larger than the amount of the fees associated with the performance
of the work involved.
